Who is the Designer?
Jessica Hockaday is innovative and one of a kind, with a deep love for everything custom made. Born and raised in the beautiful Washington, D.C., she attended several schools with both a background in multi-cultural diversity and the arts. Growing up in the Nation's Capital, she was chosen and started performing at a young age. Just to name a few things she was a member of 6 church choirs including one that traveled to perform in Paris, France, Annual Safety Patrol Parades on the National Mall, recruited to The Washington Performing Arts Society Children's choir performing at the Kennedy Center with Gospel Recording Artist Regina Bell and Donnie McClurkin, Tv News channels, historical landmark and concert mall performances with famous DC Youth Ensemble Dance Company, flute player in the prestigious DC Youth Orchestra, modeled for Sears clothing company and studied dance at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Jessica has always expressed an undeniable attraction to anything that is custom made, as she is a firm believer that everyone deserves to create their own moments and memories in the unique way that fits their true self. When asked how she pulls it all together she states, "there is an unexplainable rush that takes over my body and stays until every unexpected detail is discovered". This drive for inventing new ways to draw out ones' personality and her love for making everything extraordinary is how she realized that her passion validated her purpose!
While taking courses for event management, working in the government, becoming a mom and competitive cheer coach, her time management was very limited but that did not stop her from fulfilling her career dreams into a reality. As a Certified International Wedding and Event Planner, she started her business working for family and friends styling baby showers, children's events, intimate adult events, community functions and other events. Receiving the speechless reactions from her clients and verbal recommendations from attending guests, Jessica has launched her company Kultural Kreations & Lavish Events, where she can continue to use her "out of the box" visions to create "once in a lifetime" experiences.
